বিমসটেক শীর্ষ সম্মেলনের ফাঁকে অনুষ্ঠিত দ্বিপক্ষীয় বৈঠকে প্রধান উপদেষ্টা অধ্যাপক মুহাম্মদ ইউনূস শেখ হাসিনাকে ফেরত পাঠানোর প্রসঙ্গ উত্থাপন করলে ভারতের প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদির প্রতিক্রিয়া নেতিবাচক ছিল না।
আজ শনিবার নিজের ভেরিফায়েড ফেসবুক পেজে এ তথ্য জানান প্রধান উপদেষ্টার প্রেস সচিব শফিকুল আলম। ফেসবুকে তিনি লিখেছেন, ‘আমরা আশাবাদী, হাসিনাকে একদিন ঢাকায় ফিরিয়ে আনা হবে এবং আমরা শতাব্দীর সবচেয়ে আলোচিত বিচার দেখতে পাব।’
চলতি মাসের ২ থেকে ৪ তারিখ পর্যন্ত থাইল্যান্ডের রাজধানী ব্যাংককে বিমসটেকের ষষ্ঠ শীর্ষ সম্মেলন অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। এর মধ্যে গতকাল শুক্রবার সম্মেলনের ফাঁকে অধ্যাপক ইউনূস ও নরেন্দ্র মোদি ৪০ মিনিট বৈঠক করেন।
ফেসবুকে শফিকুল আলম আরও লেখেন, দ্বিপক্ষীয় বৈঠকে অধ্যাপক ইউনূসের প্রতি অত্যন্ত সম্মান প্রদর্শন করেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদি। তিনি অধ্যাপক ইউনূসের কাজের প্রশংসা করেন।
বৈঠকে নরেন্দ্র মোদি বাংলাদেশের প্রধান উপদেষ্টার উদ্দেশে বলেন, ‘যদিও ভারতের সঙ্গে শেখ হাসিনার সম্পর্ক ভালো ছিল। তবে আমরা আপনার প্রতি তাঁর অসম্মানজনক আচরণ দেখেছি; কিন্তু আমরা আপনাকে সম্মান ও শ্রদ্ধা জানানো অব্যাহত রেখেছিলাম।’
শফিকুল আলম লিখেছেন, ভারত বাংলাদেশের সঙ্গে সম্পর্কের একটি নতুন দিকচিহ্ন তৈরি করতে চায়, এটা স্পষ্ট। বৈঠকে ভারতের প্রধানমন্ত্রী বারবার অধ্যাপক ইউনূসকে বলেন, ‘ভারতের সম্পর্ক বাংলাদেশের জনগণের সঙ্গে, কোনো নির্দিষ্ট দল বা ব্যক্তির সঙ্গে নয়।’
প্রেস সচিব লেখেন, অধ্যাপক ইউনূস সাম্প্রতিক সময়ে কয়েক মাসে বহুবার বলেছেন, ‘আমরা চাই, ভারতের সঙ্গে সর্বোত্তম সম্পর্ক। তবে এই সম্পর্ক হতে হবে ন্যায্যতা, সাম্য এবং পারস্পরিক সম্মানের ভিত্তিতে।’
When Chief Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus raised the issue of sending Sheikh Hasina back during a bilateral meeting held on the sidelines of the BIMSTEC summit, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's reaction was not negative.
This information was given by the Chief Advisor's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam on his verified Facebook page on Saturday. He wrote on Facebook, "We are hopeful that Hasina will be brought back to Dhaka one day and we will see the most talked-about trial of the century."
The sixth BIMSTEC summit was held in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, from 2 to 4 of this month. During this, Professor Yunus and Narendra Modi met for 40 minutes on the sidelines of the summit on Friday.
Shafiqul Alam also wrote on Facebook that Prime Minister Narendra Modi showed great respect for Professor Yunus during the bilateral meeting. He praised Professor Yunus' work.
In the meeting, Narendra Modi told the Chief Advisor of Bangladesh, "Although Sheikh Hasina had good relations with India. However, we have seen her disrespectful behavior towards you; But we continued to respect and honor you.’
Shafiqul Alam wrote, It is clear that India wants to create a new direction in relations with Bangladesh. In the meeting, the Indian Prime Minister repeatedly told Professor Yunus, ‘India’s relations are with the people of Bangladesh, not with any specific group or individual.’
The press secretary wrote, Professor Yunus has said many times in recent months, ‘We want the best relations with India. But this relationship must be based on fairness, equality and mutual respect.’
