যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের শুল্ক আরোপের বিষয়টি নিয়ে প্রধান উপদেষ্টা সরাসরি মার্কিন প্রশাসনের সঙ্গে যোগাযোগ করবেন বলে জানিয়েছেন বাণিজ্য উপদেষ্টা শেখ বশিরউদ্দীন। তিনি বলেন, প্রধান উপদেষ্টা নিজেই মার্কিন প্রশাসনের কাছে বাংলাদেশের অবস্থান তুলে ধরবেন।
আজ শনিবার রাত সাড়ে ৯টায় রাষ্ট্রীয় অতিথি ভবন যমুনার সামনে এক ব্রিফিংয়ে শেখ বশিরউদ্দীন এ কথা বলেন। এর আগে মার্কিন শুল্ক আরোপ নিয়ে যমুনায় বৈঠক হয়।
বাণিজ্য উপদেষ্টা বলেন, ‘আমাদের ওপরে আরোপিত শুল্ক এবং আমাদের বাণিজ্যের যে ধরন ও গঠন, তার ওপর ভিত্তি করে আমরা প্রধান উপদেষ্টার নির্দেশনা...এবং প্রধান উপদেষ্টা নিজেই যুক্তরাষ্ট্র প্রশাসনের সাথে সংযুক্ত হবেন এ বিষয়ে আমাদের অবস্থানকে তুলে ধরার জন্য।’
The Chief Advisor will directly communicate with the US administration regarding the imposition of US tariffs, said Trade Advisor Sheikh Bashiruddin. He said, the Chief Advisor himself will present Bangladesh's position to the US administration.
Sheikh Bashiruddin said this at a briefing in front of the State Guest House Jamuna at 9:30 pm today, Saturday. Earlier, a meeting was held in Jamuna regarding the imposition of US tariffs.
The Trade Advisor said, "Based on the tariffs imposed on us and the nature and structure of our trade, we will follow the instructions of the Chief Advisor... and the Chief Advisor himself will contact the US administration to present our position on this issue."
